Science Kit began as a hobby of a Tonawanda, New York science teacher - Gustave Koch. Work on his Master's Degree thesis was based on the development and testing of the first elementary "science kit" for school use. The kit fulfilled a school need, and soon both
Gustave and his wife, Jane, were making more of them in the basement of their home. By 1957, the demand for these "science kits" had grown so large, that they formed the company "Science Kit" and moved their basement operation into a small shop on Delaware Avenue
in the Town of Tonawanda.
By 1979, and through the 80s and into the 90s Science Kit grew into a national supplier of educational science supplies and the Science Kit name became increasingly well recognized and respected in the science education field. In 1998 Randy Burkard became
president we saw the first CD-ROM version of the catalog as well as an Elementary catalog and a catalog devoted to Multimedia as the company began to push this new and exciting learning technology. And now in 2006 they welcome you to their web site and invite you
to stick around. We think it's going to be a very exciting place to be....
